I've had the Firestick 4k max for several months. No problems at all. Supports virtually all video and audio codec including Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. I also stream iptv with it without any issues.
These are the only Android/Google TV devices with Dolby Vision/Atmos support:
I have both and they are pretty similar but currently I think the 4K Max edges out the Chromecast. The Amazon device obviously favours Prime Video integration but works well with all services.
I prefer the Google TV OS over Amazon's, but the CCwGTV leaves a lot to be desired as a device (starting with only 4GB disk space, I wouldn't exactly say it has snappy performance either).
4k max is best, cwgt hasn't been updated in a long time, seems abandoned by Google and the space is deplorable
I have 2 fire stick lite and one fire stick 4k max and they're really good, my experience has been very good for streaming platforms and iptv, the only bad thing is that hbo max is not available in my location. Also, I prefer the echo dot with alexa which is compatible with fire stick and I think it's the best smart assistant in the market. A lot of people recommended me buying the ccwgtv claiming it was better than fire stick, but I have to say that my experience hasn't been very good so far, the thing that pisses me off the most is the wifi issues, constant wifi drops and also wifi sucks when I connect a Bluetooth device, I can't connect a soundbar without having extreme wifi drops and videos won't stop buffering. Like it's stupid, the ccwgtv is literally 2 centimeters away from my wifi router while my fire stick is like 4 meters away from the wifi router basically on the next room. My experience with iptv on the ccwgtv is also regular it keeps buffering, channels load really good on fire stick tho. Tbh I'm kind of disappointed and I totally regret buying the ccwgtv. I'm happy with fire stick :) I also bought a Google nest mini to use it with the ccwgtv and it sucks man. Can't do basic things like opening twitch using my voice, which I can do so easily with Alexa and fire stick. That's my experience. If anyone can recommend me something to have a better experience with the wifi on my ccwgtv
The only thing i truly hate about firestick is inability to change keyboard so no non alphabet can be searched. A quick workaround is ftv app on android.
