Looking for a box that will play videos on VLC from a USB and a 3.5mm jack for audio

title.

I am wondering if anyone can help me find a box that will let me play my videos on the VLC app from a USB with videos on it. I also would like to have audio passthrough with a 3.5mm jack as I will be using this for my trailer for camping this summer and our speakers use a 3.5mm jack but the TV uses HDMI.

I hope this makes sense. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

A shield is overkill and has no audio jack.

Mi box 3 or S is cheap and will play from USB and has audio jack.

I think generally vlc will play anything no matter what hardware it's installed on as it has its own codecs installed, l think 3.5mm jack is near standard for boxes and they all come with a usb port typically two ports a lot have 3

If you are already using a box that only has hdmi out you can just buy a splitter that breaks out the audio to rca or 3.5. On first glance I found one with RCA and SPDIF out for $15.

I’d get an nvidia shield pro - running plex media server - and have your videos on the usb directly plugged into the shield. Have plex point at the usb drive as the library.
