Or if you have some other way of blocking requests to those 2 URIs, that should work as well. Still need to clear cache and data though.
Note that you WILL still see generic ads for Google services as the default. You just won't get spammed with all the non-Google content ads.
Different launcher or try this https://beebom.com/how-disable-personalized-recommendations-google-tv/
Apps Only Mode
I just uninstalled google home updates, worked for me.
Search a tutorial in YouTube o how ti set a custom launcher
What's not to like? 😂
Sideload Channel Launcher 3, Flauncher, ATV Launcher and there are many others on the Play Store, with Launcher Manager, I have a link if you want, but it will come up with a Google search. You don't have to fool around with any ad blockers or loose any other parts of the OS. You can put together a clean icon based home page with no recommendations or ads and just the apps you want to launch.
So aside from the launchers, I'll just mention that there is another way. It takes rolling back a (Google, system) launcher app and then disabling that and another app. Breaks the play store and you have to manually update apps. This will restore the android launcher to pre-ad state.
Not ideal, but in case you're looking for options beyond a new launcher. And I like it because I like to think that google can tell it's happening.
If you don't mind learning a new launcher a smidge, Sideload Channel Launcher 3 can be a very nice replacement for the Google one. A bit of ADB can help remove the Google launcher and install SCL3 as the default.
It can get you back to tiles and apps without the darn adds plastered all over everything.
Pi hiole might be an option...or like others have mentioned use alternative launcher
Install a third-party launcher like Sideload Channel Launcher
Same thing here. I tried to filter out DNS androidtvwatsonfe-pa.googleapis.com as per some posts here, but without success. Any updated info on this?
Why? You don't like fake tits?
Turn off personalized ads.
Just don't get Android TV next time.. omg
3rd party launcher.
Google is, first and foremost, an advertising company. That's what they make their money off of and their products, in whatever shape, will reflect that purpose.
