I just bought an Onn Walmart UHD box and it works great but there is no option to put the box to sleep or turn it off via software. How do you guys turn it off (other than unplugging it)?

Turn it off with the remote
Mine will sleep when hitting the remote's power button as well.
Unplugging is the only way
I don't. I also wouldn't turn off my phone everytime I put it down... And it does go to sleep when I turn off the TV with the onn remote (the LED changes from white to red).
Also even if you could, the question then would be how you turn it back on. :)
Turn off your power strip, save energy!
You can purchase a micro-usb in-line power switch, they are on Amazon as Raspberry Pi accessories, think the vendor that sent me mine was LoveRpi. That is if you want a physical switch, but you can always use software like the app { tvQuickActions } to program a key to [sleep] the device on remote button input, and option to even activate Android's default Power-Menu which gives option to quickly perform a Restart[reboot].
I have screensaver manager and use airel screensaver. Then you can go to airel screensaver settings and choose when you want it to activate when screensaver comes on
There is no off, only sleep. The sleep control is under Screensaver.
My 70" I got on Black Friday has a button on the bottom left of the tv under the red light. Hold it in for 3 seconds to turn on/off. Tapping it switches inputs.
Mine is the Roku version. So maybe mine is different?
I just turn off the power bar that all the streaming boxes are connected to.
