Android developer looking for interesting Widget Projects

I'm an android developer, new CCwGTV owner, also looking into an nvidia shield for the media room.

I know that with some of the various third party launchers there's the ability to add widgets, but not many widgets play nicely.

Are there widgets that you'd like, or find missing, from your android tv experience? I'd be interested in taking a swing at making a few and getting them up in the store. Both as a fun personal project and to help out the community.

I'd like to see a Weather or a Calendar/time(multi) widget(s).

I would pay $ for a calendar widget showing daily events (from Google Calendar data) with current date and time. Click on widget opens calendar app. Keep it scaled as horizontal banner sized showing first 2 or 3 events for current date.
