Yes know that. The problem is the wifi you get from your ISP can be something that is an IP address at a major city in a different state than you. Plus the simulated GPS can also be in a random location. All depends on if your ISP serves you in a standard way.
If you are traveling you can't watch your shows on your apps because the GPS locked to somewhere other than local. So you can use a VPN to simulate the location. Or you can use a gps mock location app. But there are no mock location apps for Android tv.

Seems to be a problem with ANDROID 10. When I switched to an old box with ANDROID 8 was able to get things working. Also need the CHANGE ORIENTATION app to make this work well for further fyi. .

Trying to find a gps location changer that works on Android tv. Not interested in VPN as I know that works well enough. Looking to change to specific city. Not finding any apps that will work on Android tv. Some kind of work but the location does not change. Mock settings in developer mode is changed, but the app will not change location.
I think location is interpreted via IP address, but I could be wrong on that
