Alternative to Fire TV with less software bloat, ads etc?

by NinjaMayCry

Looking to upgrade from my FireStick.

Rather tired of Amazon forcing their ads down my throat and disabling customs launchers.
I just need sideloading and something that isn't intrusive with its ads, visual updates & bloat ware.

Walmart has the Onn 2k/4k TV sticks that run Android TV with minimal preinstalled cruft at a cheap price. So far, only similar media sources and Walmart's TV store app were ads I've seen.

I was in the same boat like 2 weeks ago. I dumped my Firestick for the Walmart ONN box 4K for $20. You'll be able to keep using a custom launcher and the thing is super easy to mod

Yea I been reading and it seems a lot of peple are buying them. It seems they have pretty much the same Memory/Storage as the FireStick except it is in a box. It's tempting.

Formuler Z10 se, z10 pro, or z10 pro max.. the have an ad-free UI that is similar to androidTV, and. Still have the AndroidTV Play store.

I bought a standard Android TV, then I used a simple program on my laptop to hack it and deleted everything I didn't want including all the bloatware and system sounds. Now it looks beautiful and runs faster.

I'm not even a coder, everything I needed was online

I've owned mixboxes, fire tvs, and chromecast with Google tv. The latter being my favorite.

I don't see what's the problem here. I disabled software upgrades on my firestick, debloated it, and installed a custom launcher. I have zero ads and zero problems with it.
