Xiaomi 4k Laser projector won't load apps through PlayStore

by arcticfox

I recently purchased one of these: h ttps://www.androidtv-guide.com/streaming-gaming/xiaomi-mi-4k-laser-projector-150/

The picture quality is amazing, but the Android TV experience has been pretty awful. I've managed to upgrade it to the latest software but it is still having issues installing apps from the Playstore. When I select an app to install, it seems to download metadata about the app and then it ALWAYS brings up a panel that says I don't have enough room to install the app. The dialogue box gives the me option of "Go to storage", which reports that it has over 10Gb of space.

I have been through all the submenus and can't find any sort of configuration parameter that I need to set. I've googled everything I could think of but I can't seem to find anything useful about the problem or even the projector itself. Can anyone help?

I couldn't find any information on how the internal storage system of the device is built and it would seem odd to me if there was few gigs of internal storage and 10+ gb of external storage space.

But one thing that you could always try to do, is to try and allow the projector to use Expanded storage for app installations.

Follow the quide from the accepted solution from that page.

If that doesn't work, you could always try your luck with fast USB 3.0 stick that you could use to expand the storage of that projector.

While back had the same problem with the app store but different device. I had to clear the app store's cache and data.
