Any way I can install apps from .apk files on my Chinese Android TV?

by Vurmiraaz

Hmm I'm Chinese and I'm simply asking if I can bypass the block on my Chinese Android TV set by manufacturers. I just want to install Microsoft Edge, and maybe Twitter and YouTube too.

I've tried to install apps from .apk files on a USB drive but failed, getting a prompt saying "installing has been disabled according to national laws" that sort of thing.

Then I tried to connect to ADB ( Android Debugging Bridge ) on my PC via Wi-Fi but failed too, the error message saying the device ( my TV ) is unauthorized/unauthenticated. I used Wi-Fi instead of USB connection because my PC is too far from my TV and I don't have a long USB cable.

So please, be kind and tell me is there any way I can install those apps on my Chinese TV. Thanks!

Edit: I have the ADB function turned on on my TV, at least that's what I think. IDK if the manufacturer have disabled ADB completely.

Oh, forgot to mention. Just giving facts in case you guys have ways that require a smartphone. I don't have a phone cause my parents won't buy me one; they say it's bad for my study. However I have Android Studio installed, and can use emulators if there's something I need to do on a phone.

can you list the device model and brand?

I don't know how China modifies the ROM installed, but you can try and see if there is a non-local (non-Chinese) build for that device, and see if you can install it. Good Luck.
