Google, it's an accessibility issue that we can't change font size for the UI.

On Android, you can change the font size system wide. Why can't we do that on Android TV? I'm often not wearing my glasses at night and I'm having to squint to try the navigate my CCwGTV. Have resorted to using my phone and just Casting it but I'd prefer to use the TV apps.

AndroidTV has the ability to change font size just like regular Android, it just isn't available by default in the Settings. Only way to change font size is through an ADB shell.

#Enlarge Font

settings put system font_scale 1.15

Notes:

  • 1.0 is default, raise by 0.05 increments, going past 1.3 and distortion occurs

It's gonna be available on Android TV 12

We've got the same issue, a 24" 1080p TV in the bedroom at the foot of the bed, it's basically impossible to read anything without glasses.
