Just got my first android tv box (onn walmart) and was wondering if there's a list of popular aps people like? I have tubi and pluto-tv and like them but is there any other ones that people really enjoy for movies, news etc? I really like hunting and outdoor channels as well. Second question. I was looking at some iptv stuff and found a pubic list mentioned elsewhere on github. The m3u file has porn in it and I don't want that trash in my house, is there a way to remove that shit?
There are problem some hunting/outdoor-themed channels on both Pluto TV and the similar Xumo app, along with lots of channels featuring news, movies, classic TV shows, etc, all of it free. And a cool thing is that you can install Google's own Live Channels app and then pull in all those free channels from both Pluto TV and Xumo, then edit the channel list down to just the ones you care about, which makes for nice channel surfing. (If you don't edit the list, you'll see all 300 or however many channels they have.) You can use the channel up/down buttons on the Onn remote to channel surf in the Live Channels app (and also in the YouTube TV app if you have that service). To see program info and guide in Live Channels, click the center circle button on the Onn remote.
You should buy a streaming service like Netflix, Disney, HBO, Prime
"Popularity" is not the issue here. It depends what kind of apps you need.
There's no need to jam your storage with unnecessary, "popular" apps that you don't use.
If you like sports there's DofuSports Livestreaming. It's primarily for mobile devices, but it will work on Android TV. To navigate it you'll need a mouse app. Here's the code for Downloader - 54691.
Go into the Play Store. The most popular apps are all listed towards to top of the app store or on the app search page. Most of the popular streaming apps require some sort of paid subscription outside of YouTube and Peacock (has a limited free tier). I'm not aware of any free outdoor/hunting apps, my best guess is YouTube would be the solution for you.
I can't help you with the iptv stuff, I have never gone down that road.
