Agree with the other comment. Though if the home screen is what you want then you can try sideloading google tv launcher onto your android tv and use a VPN app specifically for the google tv launcher app to get recommendations
You want even more recommendations? Have you kept your channels on the home screen? All that stuff is recommendations.
Amazon keeps that as proprietary and only for their Firesticks. As far as I know nobody has been interested enough in it to try and make it work with GoogleTV and it might not even be possible since it runs on FireOS (Amazon's modified Android OS).
