Usually there is a "display" button that when pressed will show info like that.
also i did try to hold the info button, but the box only disappears for a second
Sorry that I can't help, but this just brought back painful memories of my Philips BluRay player about 10 or 15 years ago.
It had a similar pop up with [Time Elapsed] / [Time Remaining] showing in the top corner. I pressed every button on the remote trying to make it go away. I finally called customer service in utter frustration and the rep basically told me that it was a feature, not a bug. I boxed that shit back up and returned it, promising never to buy Philips again.
How to remove the channel display on my Philips TV screen?
It is a normal behavior of this TV set to have the channel display continuously on the screen for about 10 minutes. You can remove the channel display by:
Press the 'MENU' button on the remote control.
Press the cursor up/down to select SETUP and press cursor right.
Press the cursor up/down to select PREFERENCES and press cursor right.
Press the cursor up/down to MENU PREFERENCESand press cursor right.
Press the cursor up/down to select OSDand press cursor right.
Press the cursor up/down to select MINUMUM and press the 'OK' button.
Press the 'MENU' button to exit the menu.
NOTE: If you remove the channel display number, the volume bar indicator will also not be displayed on the screen when you try to adjust the volume control.
You can download software that will reduce the amount of time the channel is displayed.
