So I have a couple of these lil guys floating around, and I don't have any problems with them doing their stated purpose.

That said I wouldn't mind tinkering tweaking and repurposing one of them with a bit more utility (more storage, I/O, etc)

I'm wanting to add a battery pack and potentially an SD card of sorts (USB to card is fine) but in looking for schematics/diagrams, internal photos, teardowns, hell anything came up fruitless.

Any idea of plausibility in adding a dedicated power connection thus freeing up the otg connection, I'd prefer to NOT have a host cable, taped to a hub, hot glued to a lipo battery. At least not as a final version.

I think you're going to need to be the community guinea-pig on this one. Tear one open and take pictures. Micro-USB is only 4 wires, shouldn't be terribly difficult to split that out, provide regulated 5v power, and shove it all in a little project box.

U could always just use the OTG with a battery pack that gives power which plugged in charging so it can stay plugged in 24/7 and once u unplug auto switches to the power bank. Then u can use something like this to easily have access to the USB ports, the micro and 2.0.

Or 3d print, or dollar store lunch box diy, ect.

I hate to be that guy but it sounds like a lot of work for very little reward... i get what ure trying to do but all I can say is jus use ur current knowledge to tear it down carefully n figure it out for urself... I mean, if u know enough to attempt it already then surely u should b able to fig a decent amount w/out needing a schematics aka backwards engineering... reminds me of everyone trying to add extra storage to the older vers of the SHIELD PRO back in the days... tryna exceed that 500gb limit... it's not as easy as it used to b on these newer storage options. I keep mentioning storage since that'll b the big hurdle... the battery option is def different but I would think would b easier to fig out... u got urself a project ahead of u if ure really that serious. I'd assume there is way options to go about this... cost wise is a lil iffy...

Refer to the Google Adt-3 development box. That's basically what it is. They're the same form factor
