Edit: I found a way to turn it off. It's a bit counterintuitive, but go into Ambient Mode settings and select the "Art gallery" option. Then on the art categories list, go through and uncheck all of the boxes and then go back. It should now be disabled. Going to leave this post up for anyone else who might have the same issue. Hopefully they will just add an "Off" option at some point in the future...
I'm trying to find a way to turn Ambient Mode OFF, yet there doesn't seem to be an option to do that in the TV settings or in the Google Home app.
It's a TCL 6-Series (55R646) and it says it's fully updated. Currently on OS Build AR2101.
Really don't want to have to reset the whole TV just to turn it off...
Google TV right?
It's funny they hid the Android TV Ambient mode/screensaver options (at the of the day it's still an Android TV).
But the options are still there, in order to access them, you need a third party screensaver app with the option to "Open system screensaver options". I use Aerial Dream.
With the system options opened, you can change the time, turn it off or even change it to an actual screensaver.
