[Mi Box S] Audio via 3.5mm out of sync

by -Whis-Sama-

Hi all! I have connected some speakers via the 3.5mm port on the Mi Box S and this works fine.

The Mi Box S keeps outputting audio through hdmi to my tv speakers. I can turn the TV speakers off via the tv's menu, however, im actually happy I can use the (pretty decent) TV-speakers in addition to my speakers, acting like some kind of centerspeaker BUT.... the external speakers and tv speakers are not in sync with eachother creating this annoying echo.

The question:
Is there someway I can get the audio from the speakers (via 3.5mm port) and the audio from my TV (via hdmi) in sync with eachother?

Can you add delay to your tv speakers ? Sometimes they come with features like that but usually it's on the speakers not TV. Worth a look.

So the issue is usually the processing of your TV, id adds delay, you can try to switch it into direct or gaming mode and see if the issue changes (on my LG it removes delay almost entirely).

So basically, the Tv needs time to process the image, and to keep the audio in sync with the image it also delays the audio.
The 3.5mm output of the Mi Box however has now delay, so it plays the audio slightly ahead of the TV.

I've had the audio out of sync issue with Mi Box S since forever. It happens with the 3.5mm audio jack and there's probably nothing you can do about it. The maximum one can suggest you is to buy a higher quality aux cable, and who knows if the issue will persist or go with that too. There are two options though:

  1. Use your speakers' alternative input. You sure your speakers only has an aux input?

  2. Don't use the speakers from your TV. Though the delay will remain but you'll just get used to it if you stop paying attention to it.
