Youtube on android TV (I'm using a chromecast with android TV built in) seems to randomly enable subtitles every now and then, and it's really annoying to have to disable them all the time. Is there a permanent way of fixing this?

That’s funny I’m annoyed that i have to turn them on every single time.
The subtitle issues and also the ads made me sideload SmartTubeNext instead. More settings options, no more ads, open source, pretty much working flawlessly for me.
I need the captions always on, youtube is always randomly turning them off for me.
You might look in accessibility settings (if chromecast/ android tv has it) and try ticking captions to off, same with the cast device.
(Also the smarttube app I use is buggy and has the captions/subtitles disabled and won't let me enable, technology is wonderful.)
Oh, that is so annoying! I really want to know too if there is a fix for this.
