Installing Android TV to a PC

by Rubbaneck96

Ok to make a long story short I have some extra PCs laying around. I would like to turn one into an android TV box. I found the instructions to do so ( https://youtu.be/8kZk1Zh6WAo ) but I'm just curious if the 5.1 audio will work on the motherboard that I want to use M4A88TD-V EVO?

If anyone has any thoughts on this I would greatly appreciate it.

I've done this. I would say save yourself the trouble, buy a Chromecast with Google TV. Your life is easier, you can just cast everything from your phone. Android TV for PC won't let you Chromecast in or some apps like Netflix's won't work

Or just install windows 10 on those old desktops and play it thru an HDMI. Use ProgDVB for IPTV, and bluestacks for everything else.

Sell them and buy a proper tv box.

I asked a few times and got reddit rhetoric. The old-school challenges are dead and gone my friend.

I have done it. I used android studio sdk.

It worked but didn't at the same time. I mean it loaded up and everything but I had a hard time installing stuff and it didn't run without a window. That turned me off.

I am not sure why people don't see the purpose but the best I got was a few apps in bluestacks and use the shortcuts in a launcher like rainmaker...

So to be clear I got sound on a PC but limited joy from it. I did not use this new option you posted.

I believe that has the Radeon HD 4250 which does not support anything other than Stereo over HDMI as far as I can remember.
