Disney Plus poor performance on Nvidia Shield (Non Pro)

Has anyone noted terrible performance in menus and app navigation for disney plus app on the non pro nvidia shield?

The app is laggy and janky as hell, but youtube, netflix and spotify run pretty smoothly.

Anyone with similar issues or can offer a solution?

Shield experience 9 borked me. The whole device was locking up, youtube was stuttering.Got it to start up and did an immediate factory reset.I did have to adjust the audio synchronisation in settings with that bouncing ball UI/Graphic. But everything is working again.

Disney+ is still as slow as molasses. My 20 USD ONN box from walmart is working faster.

I set up a CCwGTV and the whole Disney+ interface is moving much better and faster, on what is, essentially cheap hardware. However, with my Samsung TV and Samsung soundbar connected via optical, there is still an audio delay. The audio delay is with the D+ app only, not with youtube, not with spotify, not with local playback over my network. Just D+.

You don't want to use Disney+ on the shield anyway. Movies don't display at the proper frame rate, which gives them a slight stutter(tv shows seem to be fine, though). I have to use the built in app on my TV instead.

My disney plus on Shield also sucks, takes forever to back out of a movie/show. Audio continues to play in background once the video stopped etc.

I have not updated to new version yet either.

I'm seeing the spinning wheel on Disney+, as if buffering and generally the app is poor. Seems worse recently.

Similar to you, I don't have any issues with the other services

I upgraded to Shield Exp. 9.0 yesterday, yet to test to see if there is any improvement.

It’s not working great on my Shield TV. Slow to load and exit the movie/show, and since the update it will randomly go back to the movie/show’s details and then close completely. Works perfectly on my LG’s WebOS.

So I got the same problem and couldn't find any solution... but: For a few days the Shield TV was starting with the UI in double size (I think the internal resolution went to FHD). The whole experience was absolutely flawless - no stutter, no crashes, and as far as I could tell: the videos themselves were still played at 4K. Sadly I could not find out why it started behaving like this.

Nvidia shield pro with cat6 ethernet cable directly connected. All except Disney plus services are working smooth. Disney plus gives rotating icon until error screen saying my internet is too slow which is bonkers. (Speedtest via nvidia shield app says 970 Mbps down, 75 Mbps up. 2.1 ms jitter. ). Uninstall disney plus reinstall same issue. Using a new profile same issue. Even weirder is the fact that when I change the schield to use wireless connection it at least start but stutters but then disney plus does not throw the slow internet connection error. When i use the phone app and cast to the shield then it worked flawlessly until 3 weeks agoo. Now the app has the same issue on the phone as on the shield... crazy..as all other streaming services(Prime/Netflix/youtube) work everywhere with wifi and with cable on any device...except Disney plus. Ontop it used too work...until it didn't without any changes on infrastructure.
