Google TV remote input button not working

by blkarcher77

So I got a Chromecast with Google TV, and set it up on my RCA TV. I managed to setup the power button and the volume buttons just fine, but no luck with the input.

I noticed that when its connecting, it tries various different "codes" until you find one that works. I imagine it does that to emulate the control remote that came with the TV.

My question is, is there a way for it to try more codes? Because if the problem is that the device just doesn't have the code that my specific TV uses, I don't mind looking for it myself, as long as I can input it in. The control remote my TV came with is kind of shitty, and having a working input button is literally the only thing I would need in order to never use it again.

Also, I do have CEC enabled, but I'm trying to get my PC to connect to my PC, and my graphics card doesn't support CEC, which means I can't change it with my PC.

Just lie to the wizard and tell it the code that worked, didn't work, so it'll try more codes for that brand. I think I had to skip 2 or 3 "working" codes on my bedroom TV to find one that worked for all functions.

If the remote control wizard is unable to find the code, unfortunately there is no way to manually input one.

I have an RCA TV (RNSM4003-B) and the only function that works for me through HDMI-CEC is the ability to turn the TV on or off. I can't even control the audio through it, and no IR codes are working either.

I currently only use the Chromecast with it so not being able to change the input or change the volume isn't a dealbreaker for me fortunately, as I just leave the TV volume at a certain level and control the Chromecast volume as a workaround.

If the input selection ever comes up then it technically 'worked'. I have to keep pressing the input button which goes through the separate inputs because the arrow keys don't work.
