As you may or may not know, Google TV is still not supported in many countries. So what will happen if you buy a new Sony/TCL TV with Google TV in these countries? You will get a version of Google TV with no recommendations (see below). Is there a chance to get this UI if you sideload the launcher?
I live in one of the unsupported countries and if I install Google TV on my Philips TV, I will get an error with "can´t load". Is Sony using different apk as the launcher? How can I sideload Google TV and get this working version?
Sideloading doesn't work, google needs to activate it remotely. You can use a VPN if you really want the new look otherwise you will get the old look.
