My mom kidnapped my Mi Box S and now I'm looking to replace it.
I own an Apple TV, so I mainly used my Mi Box to watch the movies I own using the USB.
Giving that the Mi Box S is really old now, are there other affordable more new alternatives?
The Mi Box S is still working really well when I visit mom.

Get a Mecool KM2 or KM7.
The Tivo Stream 4k has a USB C port, and you can get a USB C port to USB A adaptor.......
May be Chromecast with Google tv
Walmart onn with a USB OTG cable. $20+$5, still receiving updates and not as spammy as the TiVo. No Dolby vision though.
If you live in the US there are other several options like the new T-Mobile Tvision Hub (v2), TiVo Stream4K, and the Verizon StreamTV (v2) that are more powerful than the old MiBox and come with an extra USB port, both the Tvision and TiVo have a USB-C port instead of USB-A.

The mi box is completely outdated, buying one after 2018 is nonsensical. If you don't want to buy an amazon stick plus a $2 adapter to get a USB port and get the best solution for your money. You have stuff like the youin you box with an amlogic s905x4 cpu for example, to have an idea, the mi box brings an s905x from 2015!
i think i would just get another mi box when the one I'm using now dies. had it for 3 years. still works perfectly fine. but i would also like to hear what others have to say about other solutions.
