Just got the new TVision Hub 2 w/ Google TV

Few more things:

  1. My USB C hub works fine for storage and Ethernet.
  2. No Dolby Vision
  3. HDR only and cannot de-select Match Content Dynamic Range
  4. Channel buttons work correctly for YouTube TV
  5. Can only control TV volume directly, no sound bars or Receivers
  6. Don't see a way to re-map buttons, esp the T Vision button
  7. OS possibly a tad slower than Chromecast w/ Google TV
  8. Seems like overall stock Google TV... No TMobile TV or bloatware I can find

Few things so far:

  1. Doesn't allow me to use USB C for power.
  2. Powers w/ TV USB port
  3. My older Chromecast Ultra Micro powers it... But sadly doesn't work with the Ethernet on that adapter.
  4. Doesn't recognize my 5GHz Wifi 6 network.

Is the Ethernet port gigabit or capped at 1/100?

Does Stadia work nicely?

The original had a numeric keypad. This is another step in the wrong direction. With some vMVPDs like Sling TV having more than 50 channels, scrolling through the channel guide gets tedious. The ability to directly input a channel number would be a useful navigational feature.

What would be the advantages to this vs the $20 Onn box from Walmart?

I was excited to get this to try it out. I have 5 Chromecast w/ Google TV... But for travel I have been using an older 4k Amazon Fire Stick. Seeing this had an upgraded chip and Ethernet on-board made sense for a travel device. I like it powers w/ a standard TV USB and the remote is really nice in terms of feel and weight.

Would I say get this over a Chromecast w/ GT, depends on if you want Ethernet on-board... Esp since it seems it cannot connect to Wifi6, or power w/ USB C (and the Micro doesn't seem to support data, only power)

Also remember this does not support Dolby Vision currently.

If this device was $25-$40, I could recommend... But not currently vs the Chromecast w/ GoogleTV.

Edit: bummer on the lack of Dolby Vision. Thank you for the update.

Does USB-C flash work?

BepNhaVan

Did you pay $50+tax for this?

Kodi_Fan_Omicron

Do you need a T-Mobile service plan or account to Sign-In and Set-Up the device?

No-Thought5886

so does it have a USB C port?

What's the internal memory?

I like that remote. I assume the Guide button goes to the Live Guide on the Google home screen. Does the REC button do anything?

dukerock12

Didn’t T-Mobile get rid of tvision?

BarfingMonkey

does the remote work with the CCwGTV?

BepNhaVan

Is it Android 11?

Nice! Like it?

hpcolombia

Does it allow casting? Can it be put in a group?

I got mine on Tuesday. The day one update was incredibly slow, took around 12 hours to finish. It's been an excellent device so far though.

I understand the USB-C on the Chromecast with Google TV is USB 2.0. Do you know if the USB-C port on the T-Vision Hub is 2.0 as well, or is it 3.0?

AlienBoy_tw

Anyone feel this device is quite slow?

I also have a TVision HUB w/ Google TV and had a Chromecast w/ Google TV, I thought the TVision HUB will be a bit faster since it's spec'd with a slightly faster CPU and running on Android 11. But I think it is actually much slower then the Chromecast. Is that also the case for you guys?
