Anyone know why you can't enable audio passthrough on your TV in some apps on the new Chromecast?
It works with YouTube TV but not Netflix or HBO Max. It switches back to auto which leaves the TV to process the sound which then adds delay to the audio. I'd rather the sound system process the audio.
I think I actually figured it out, apparently HDMI ARC can't handle Dolby Digital Plus. I switched the Chromecast to manual audio mode and selected only Dolby Digital, leaving the plus option off and now I can select passthrough in those apps.
