Looling to buy a USBsitter for my Xiaomi Mi Box. Will an unpowered USB hub work with a 1TB external hard drive and 64 GB pen drive?

As the post states I need more internal storage due to using Kodi so I want to plug in a pen drive as internal storage whilst also being able to use my external hard drive? What kind of USB splitter should I buy? Will an unpowered one work or do I need a better one that is powered?

I have 2x 2TB (powered) USB external HDD drives on unpowered usb hub and works fine with KODI

I had issues with a regular usb stick. It worked fine when it was on, but putting the device to sleep and coming back from sleep were problematic. Powering your hub will give you stability. If the drive is larger (mechanical drive) you’ll definitely need power.
