I just want Google to get rid of the ads on Android TV home
I've never understood why so many people are obsessed with Ethernet. I'm much more concerned with more RAM/storage.
PoE please.... It makes so much dang sense and it'll never happen at the consumer level
What do you want to bet it has the same gimped storage as every other device?
You can buy ethernet power cable for chromecast from google.
Who complains about the lack of ethernet port? On streaming sticks? People who don't have a wifi router (dial-up) don't even use streaming sticks let alone complaining about not having it. And it's not even gigabit ethernet 💩
Rather have more storage. Had to add a type c hub with Ethernet and USB ports to add a flash drive for not storage to my CCWGTV
Ohhh glorious ethernet!!!…. Wait a minute, is this not gigabit? Is Nvidia the only company that understands the value and importance of gigabit ethernet in a streaming device? I know most of the people on here crave more storage in a device, but what use is it if it can’t playback a high bitrate uhd remux? I agree that more storage should be a priority for streaming device manufacturers, but selling higher performance devices without a way to fully utilize them makes no sense to me.
8gb of storage?
Hmm, S905Y4. So it gets AV1.
And it has Android TV 11 which Google hasn't even released for its own device.
The biggest issue that I encounter on all devices with wifi 6 is that the device gets extremely hot just by downloading something over a period of time, I had that with portable devices, atv boxes, notebooks. And this slows down the system considerably.
Nice
Apparently it's more powerful than the Chromecast with Google TV according to SEI Robotics.
Are people really that upset about lack of ethernet? I have gcctv with usb c hub having ethernet and could care less. 5ghz wifi speed is so good that don't even care. The av1 codec and extra space is only thing that makes tmobile dongle relevant. Is there even anything broadcast using av1 yet? Probably be years for a change over.
It's 10/100 NIC otherwise they'd advertise it was gigabit. WiFi5/6 is faster. Less latency? Maybe useful for games, but otherwise junk.
