Google TV

Is there going to be a 64bit version of google tv like an update to make it 64 bit I just am curious if they are going to do this or if they could do this I think it would be nice to allow apps to work flawlessly and preform better if google does this but idk what do you guys think?

Without debating the exact method and systems Android TV uses. The answer is likely due to limited RAM, storage, and it having a limited benefit.

This post is an interesting comparison: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/24836854/object-size-difference-in-32-bit-and-64-bit-systems-in-java

When you have high end HW and storage the tradeoff is worth it, but when you are trying to keep the prices low and thus the HW specs are low. The system costs are not worth the benefits.

Apps working flawlessly doesn't depend on 32-bit or 64-bit, it depends on RAM & processor.

Android TV OS is 32-bit. So the apps made for Android TV are also 32-bit. The only exception is the shield TV pro, which has support for 64-bit apps.

Also, you're gonna need higher RAM, storage & better hardware to run 64-bit; which will also make the device costly & slow
