How well does the ONN Streaming box work? Thinking about getting one as a secondary streaming device. Thanks.
Edit: One thing I would need to work on it is Prime Video.
Edit 2: Bought one this afternoon. So far very impressed. Very nice device for $20 and seems solid so far, no issues. TV controls work on my Sanyo TV. Has all the apps I use.
It all depends on your system. I prefer the TiVo stream 4k, because it supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, which the ONN doesn't.
I am using the remote from my ONN box (which is excellent), on another Android box, the Mecool KM 6 Deluxe.
Prime Video works fine on it.
Definitely a Go for a secondary device. No Dolby Vision though. But for 20 bucs is actually a good device.
Does it play x265 remuxes fine?
My review:
Unless you have Amazon Prime and Alexa devices already, this is the streaming device to get. Forget Roku and its proprietary OS which prevents sideloading and has no web browser.
Both of my units were wonky using Google Assistant and Bluetooth but eventually straightened themselves out and now work perfectly.
I highly recommend the JioPages web browser. It's the only one with a large, smooth working, circular cursor like Amazon Silk's. Its ad blocker is fantastic. There is no Bookmarker app like Firestick but there is an old app called TVAppRepo that can make them. I made one for C-span's schedule page for the C-span addict in the house.
There is no Roku Channel app but you can view it on the web and make a bookmark for it.
The IR blaster is rather weak but works fine on newer TVs. On others, use the internal volume control (CEC). Firestick lacks one.
Many of the same apps are availed as on Firestick such as Downloader, Background App Killer and SmartTubeNext (blocks YT ads).
The interface will show you previews for all of your streaming services, rather than just concentrating on Amazon.
Strangely, there is no YTTV quick launch button on the bottom of the remote but they made the TV button launch it.
Android TV will be adding user profiles, not that we use them. Also, Android TV doesn't limit the number of apps on your favorite apps line and it doesn't take three clicks to the right get to the first one like Firestick. Holding the Home button brings up all of your apps. The home page has a clock.
The white remote needs no cover to keep from losing it, unlike the black Firestick one.

My two boxes were just updated. Says security patch and Netflix and UI updates. Haven't noticed anything different but I don't use Netflix. No user profiles. BTW, in-store price is now $15, check Brickseek.
Is it possible to use the included remote to control IR devices? I have a very similar unit produced by the same manufacturer, but I can't program IR keys on the remote. When I go to Remotes & Accessories menu, there is no program your buttons option?
anyone using the Showtime app on their ONN TV? I can watch movies, I can watch live Showtime, but if I try to watch a series like Dexter or Your Honor, the ad plays but when the series starts the video stays at the Showtime logo ... I can hear the audio for the program just fine, but the video is just a black Showtime logo.
It's plagued with software issues. Unfortunately Android TV suffers from the same issue as the phones: discount manufacturers mean few firmware updates and lots of bugs.
The Onn is a rebranded Dynalink which is already a clone of the Google reference design. You get what you pay for.

It's pretty great for $20. The Tivo Stream 4K has the same chip and ram, has an extra USB port (C and micro), Dolby Vision and Atmos, and a remote with a lot more buttons, which you may want especially if you want to reprogram some.
