Shield tv pro vs onn 4k box?

by SillyTrippyHippy

Is the shield pro worth the price? ($200)

or the onn 4k from Walmart? ($20)

Like what cool or nifty things does the shield pro do that the onn doesn't do?

(I don't have a 4k tv)

I like using Kodi and the diggz netflix clone build with Real-debrid, express vpn, tivimate, hulu, TeaTV and im looking for some more free or cost effective iptv playlists for tivimate..

Onn 4k is enough for your needs. Here’s a list of tips related to that box

Game streaming is the big one.

I have the Onn, and for $20 I see no reason to look anywhere else.

The onn box is great for $20. Haven't had any issues with it. And there is 0 bloatware on it.

The ONN UHD is perfect for what you describe using. You won't need the power user features of the Shield for 1080p Kodi and IPTV related stuff. Probably the only thing you could run into is maybe running out of storage if you add too many addons to Kodi.

I have both of them. Yes, Shield TV Pro is way faster, but Onn is definitely a good one for 20 bucs. I haven't tried it with Kodi because Onn is for guests room, but I can garantee that Tivimate works like a charm. I mean, if you're not into heavy gaming, Onn is actually quite good, definitely better than Mi Box and on par with Chromecast with Google TV.

I have 2 shields and since then have bought 5 onn boxes and love them. Little difference between them but for $20 on secondary tvs they are great.

You get what you paid for.

I have a Nvidia Shield and a mi box S and the difference is huge.

Kodi runs way better / faster. Emulation is better. But everything depends on what you wanna spend

If you are just watching standard content you can probably get away with the $20 one but you absolutely get what you pay for. It will probably be laggy, buggy, need frequent reboots, and shit will just randomly not work. Its like death by 1000 papercuts and youll probably regret it. I had a Mibox3 for a couple years and that was my experience.

The shield, while much more expensive, is a very solid box that handles pretty much anything and will be future proof for you. If its going to be your main entertainment hub you should just go with that if you can afford it. I was excited to upgrade to it.

The Shield wasn't worth it for me. I use 5-6 streaming apps as well as Kodi, Jellyfin and VLC and haven't ran into anything the Onn box can't handle.

I own both and the onn is def more laggy... so basically it and a mi box are for the guest bedroom or other rooms and the shield pro is in the living room
