I heard a lot of issues that this device can’t read files larger than fat32 (4gb) which is a problem with some apps.
I heard the mi box fixes this however and Nvidia shield and works with NTfs and exfat
Anyone have input?

That's a Fat32 issue, not a CCwGTV issue.
The title of your posts should've been "Did Google fix Google TV chromecast's "Fat32 only" issue?"
My Hisense android TV has always worked with exfat I think and maybe even NTFS.
