Can any one tell me if it's possible to run Android Auto on an Android TV box and connect your phone to it?
Maybe? I actually got android auto and carplay running on my android phone using this , but that was like 3 years ago, did it for testing purposes before installing it into an android head unit.
Basically all you got to do is install the bootleg android auto/CarPlay app mentioned in the listing, plug in the dongle and then connect your phone to it. So theoretically if you can side load the app into your android tv, and if the app works, and the TV box can recognize the dongle. You should be able to use android auto on your android tv box, not sure what you can do with it tho..
What's your engame with this? There may be a better option than trying to hack something together that is likely to be unstable at best (most likely flat out not possible). Someone here may have a suitable solution for you :)
Android Auto endpoints are basically dumb screen-share recipients with no special OS or anything, on specialised hardware.
