I am loving the google tv remote.
But it looks lke I am trying to do something that's not meant to be, weirdly enough to me.
- I can set up to turn on/off the TV from the google remote
- I can set up to turn on/off the soundbar from the google remote BUT then I lose doing so with the TV (and vice-versa)
Is there a way so that I can power on/off both TV and soundbar from the google remote?
Cheers
I use HMDI (ARC) to connect my TV and my SB, and this means that my SB turns on after I turn my TV on.
I think this requires HDMI CEC to be enabled.
On my TV I use the CEC audio only mode, because that seems to work best for my setup. When I use regular or full CEC, I seem to have some weird interactions that happen between the TV and other CEC enabled devices that are connected.
The CEC audio only mode, means that the TV should only respond to "audio" commands, and not any other commands.
If your sound bar is connected using something other than HDMI (ARC) then CEC control might not work, even though it should work if the TV is connected to the SB using just HDMI, since the CEC data bus, is just that a bus (actually a wire) that is supposed to connect any/all connected HDMI devices together so that they can all "talk/hear" each other.
I hope that this made sense and was helpful.
Best wishes and good luck!
