Using android box as a downloader device?

Hi, I'm currently using my pc and phone to download files over night, is it possible to use android box like mi box s for download files constantly without turning on my TV.

I'm using ADM in my phone, it works perfectly and I can change download location to my connected USB.

I want to connect my USB to it and download everything on that.

Is it possible?, does these android boxes designed to keep working when they're not being used? Can I install ADM on them or similar app that supports Torrent download?

You can sideload Advanced Download Manager but i wouldn't recommend it.

Even my Nvidia Shield gets slow as fuck and freezes when i'm downloading in the background. So a mi box will be even worse.

I use BiglyBT regularly without problems on same device with external HDD for torrents.

Update:

I finally managed to get it working.

You need only one app "1DM pro"
You have to download it from the web and put the apk file into your USB drive and install it to your mi box s(sideload).

Unfortunately ADM ui won't appears correctly. But 1dm is almost the same!

Leave all SEC settings for hdmi "off" so your device never gets shutdown.

I also connected a 128gb usb3 flash drive directly to my mi box's. ( u can use usb hub but your transfer rate will drops significantly).

Prepare your download list as an txt file first then import it directly to 1dm . I use my phone' adm app to export it, or pc whichever you like.

1dm can also download torrent files pretty well so you don't need another app.(download .torrent file and send it to 1dm)

1dm should show up to your app list if it doesn't, install "ATV launcher" from its own Google play.

I use "AnExplorer Pro" it was the one let me choose my usb drive as download location and its pretty good.

Use "send files to tv" for sending text file from your phone to mi box.

I use KODI for playing movies, despite mi box s specs it plays every single videos perfectly fine even 4K from usb drive.

I formatted my usb drive to exFAT, ntfs seems to have problems for being the download destination.

I also downloaded apk version of Chrome from web it will do all your web surfing with a mouse attached pretty well)

my mi box s only installed apk for "Armeba-v7a" so pay attention to it when downloading apk files.

Set active download count to 1 or 2.
