It's not just the ads, it's also present on the videos as well and also the animation on the UI of youtube app are gone!

It's shocking! What a shitty "upgrade".

New changes trigger by server side update..

Even older(v2.05.03) Youtube app are getting this..

Looks like it was a bug..

Now back to normal after clearing cache..

This needs to be fixed asap, it’s not just ugly af but I think they also did some other minor changes (scrolling through videos, preview) which overall just make the app more unpleasant to use/look at. Btw I‘m from Germany

Update: It's back to normal on its own for me. Seems like a temporary glitch from their server.

Why just play ads when we can force you to watch them the entire video HA HA HA

I have the same problem. Clearing cache (and rebooting tv etc.) doesn't work...

Oh it's not just me then. Tried restarting a few times to no avail. Will try clearing the cache.

Also,

• When you tap on a video, it literally says "Loading..." instead of the classic loading circle
• "stats for nerds" is 100% opaque now (no transparency)
• The play & pause symbol are bigger & also with grey overlay (when you pause then play a video)
• The title, no. of views, upload date & channel name all have grey overlays now.

Had this for about an hour then went back to normal

Had this yesterday for a few minutes. At first I thought my device was the problem, but I think it's more on the server side (someone in charge of the recent UI changes must have made the YouTube app go crazy, perhaps?)

It's the new UI of YouTube. Total crap!
