So arround September end there was news of GoogleTV coming out in another 14 countries, India was one of them. I recently went on Play Store and saw the GoogleTV app, I am in India. It was GoogleTV on the cover but when I opened it, it was still play movies. Am I missing something? Did anyone get the launcher on TV to work with the suggestion homepage? And anyone else from the prior said 14 countries, is it usable for you?
I received an update yesterday, thought it was Google Tv but was android 11. I live in India.
The news you're referencing to is talking about the phone app. It says it'll be rolling out "over the next few weeks", but that was a month ago.
Did you update the app? The latest version is 4.28.57.

if you want to use suggestion tab which is "For You" tab... then use USA google account and use a USA vpn,, then you get recommendations of movies, shows
Connecting to a us based vpn for some unknown amount of time automatically updates your android tv home screen to the google tv like version of it. My tv's interface now changes depending on what network i use and how often i use it
