Android TV remote app

My Haier TV remote stop working. Now I'm using the Android TV remote app of Google. It's stopped working now, it's not connected.

Any idea if this is a connection issue? Can I get a replacement remote?

If you're using the old Android TV remote app then it will stop working once the Android TV Remote service app on your TV is updated to version 5.0.

You can use the new remote app available in both Google TV or Google Play Movies & TV

To access the new remote:-

  1. On Google TV app, via Qucik Settings Tile or in app remote icon
  2. On Google Play Movies & TV app, only via Quick Settings Tile

You will need to add the remote tile to Quick Setting first. If it's not available, then update the app to version 4.28.48

Google discontinued that app and replaced it with a Google TV app remote. If you have a recent Android phone you can add the remote into your quick settings. Otherwise you can find the floating remote in the Google TV app. But on your TV you need to have updated versions of Android TV Remote Services to at least version 5.0 and Gboard to at least version 11. The Remote Services app update is still rolling out to some people.
