Box is way over-priced, keep in mind the S905Y4 chip is budget alternative to S905X4 chip, also with the budget network connections of 1T1R WiFi and 100MB lan further proves it is a budget device. These boxes should be sold at $40 USD or less for 2GB/16GB device, and $60 or less for the 4GB/64GB.

How many years will they do updates for?

Companies still not getting the memo and still using fast Ethernet. Fast Ethernet is good enough for all cases except streaming 4K UHD bluray rips. It's a shame having Ethernet and still having to use WiFi because it's faster (but not as quick and reliable).

Does mecool updates their devices? Like bug fixes?

Don't buy Mecool. I made the mistake of buying a KM7 and it never worked out of the box. Support says to send it back at my expense, if I do that I will end up with a very expensive KM7. never again. only buy from sellers that offer free returns.

I don't understand why someone would buy this over an Nvidia Shield.

Edit: not sure why the downvotes, I was seriously asking why. If the answer is "price", I'm okay with that, but why downvote me for that?
