Hello, I've crappy TVBox (H96 Max+ RK3328, 4GB RAM, 64GB Storage) It has Android 9 installed on it but I want to install AndroidTV is it possible, if yes where can I find the correct ROM for it? If it's not possible is there a way to install Leanback Launcher into this device (Since it has a phone/tablet version of android Leanback is not supported) and install TV versions of the Apps?

You might look into the ATVXperience rom. Not sure if it's available for that device/chipset, but it can get you something closer to the Android TV experience.

To be quite frank about it, though, it might just be better for you to trash it and get yourself an official Android TV device. There are some really budget friendly devices on the market now.

Not possible to get a rom. Yes you can look for a launcher that has the 'feel' of a real android TV Box but it's definetely not the same. One interface (crappy TV Box) and the apps (mobile apps) is built for touch input while the proper TV box is built for remote input....I have bought and used about 5 Chinese boxes and installed 5 more for friends and relatives over the last 6-7 years. While you can get the 'feel' on the home screen (using a custom launcher) for example: square? launcher I think I used or nova, the apps themselves will need an air mouse to work properly.

nope it is a hassle get the 20 dollar walmart onn tv box or the 50 dollars chromecast with google tv which is the best streaming dongle ever

Get a Mecool KM3, it is a bona-fide google certified Android TV box.

Not possible as previously stated. I've had about 7 of those boxes and they're crap. You can get something like a Mecool for about $15-30 more and get the proper Android TV experience.

Probably A good idea just to spend a little more to get a better experience

i'm sorry, but you're out of luck. I'd recommend just buying a touchpad + keyboard combo, like the logitech k400, or if you want, something like this https://www.jakartanotebook.com/images/products/41/63/37232/2/keyboard-wireless-24ghz-with-touchpad-black-1.jpg

It will make the experience more "bearable", while still 100% functional (as they're just basically phones hooked up to a TV)

Check out ATV Experience and see if they have a build compatible with your specific box. I remember installing it on a cheapo Chinese box a while back and it wasn't bad.

IN short, NO. You have one "cheap" option. Get a Raspberry Pi 4 and you can find tutorials online to install Android TV. The only other options would be a Mi Box, which is one of the only legally installed Android TV boxes.

Beyond that if you want a cheap option with android that isn't as dodgy, get an Amazon firestick, and you can sideload the dodgy android apps you need.
