Depends on what you hook up to the hub. I use a 20-something watt power brick I had lying around. It is more than enough to power the external drive I have plugged in.
Tried with mine and it wouldn't work. Had to get a cheap USB C hub with PD port and a PD compatible USB C charger in place of the original Chromecast charger and cable. Works like a charm.
Nope, contrary to the posts here & other old posts you'll read claiming otherwise if you bother to search various subs, IME it only worked with a high powered wall wort with this USB-C Hub .
There was a compiled list of compatible hubs/chargers made by users, but I've not seen it in almost a year since first getting my CGTV.
EDIT: Took a bit of searching, but I managed to dig up a copy of said list.
