I've tried shutting down the tv, unplugging the tv, removing cache memory from the app store but it wont work
EDIT: So it "starts" downloading/updating but it just says "waiting" and wont ever begin

Is there enough free space? It may sound like a silly question but the Chromecast with Google TV for instance won't tell you there's not enough space but just give an error when installing the app.
I resolved this 'issue' by manually sideloading the AWV update manually.
How can I watch shows without the internet

Go to Settings -> Apps -> System Apps -> Google Play Store -> Uninstall all updates
Then open Google Play Store and let it update itself.
