Most people have the opposite problem lol.
It's a Google play store update. It's the services and the launcher if I recall correctly. Just look for updates in the Play store and you should be able to have the new UI
I wouldn’t worry too much, I’d go back to the one you have if I could. I thought it’d be no big deal and wanted the new interface too but I hate that I’m always being advertised stuff now and it feels like more clicks to do things than before.
I have a Sony 950g in New York and have had the updated version for a while and have no complaints.. can't wait to get actual GoogleTV. I don't mind the ads, beats having to search through apps to get something new and interesting to watch on my ☠️ apps. No extra clicks as far as I can tell, apps run exactly the same.
What country are you in? I’m in Singapore and it’s not here yet but if I VPN to Aus or the UK, it shows up
I don’t know why it doesn’t show my text on post. I have TCL 2021 android 11 tv and software is up to date.
It's not available yet for most regions.
Have you updated Android TV yet?
Hi everyone, Thanks for your suggestions. Finally, I got it. I found the pending update from play store app. New theme looks amazing. I love it!
Edit: Can I mark this post as solved or something? Sorry, I’m new to this platform.
I quite like the new homescreen but I've been put off it by constant complaints of invasive ads.
So I'm glad I don't have it yet.
Still, it would be lovely if there was a custom launcher that could give me that look.
Not necessarily the functionality. Just that look
Why on earth would you want the new interface? Count your blessings my friend
You could manually install "Launcher X" and "Google TV" to make your home screen look like Google TV (the one on the new Chromecast). Just search online for these two apks. I did this myself but reverted back to the latest version for Android TV. I didn't want to cause any problems on my MiBoxS.
How much time would you spend on the home screen anyway? I usually just pick up an app and don't see my home screen for a while. As long as it works, so what?
I love how someone asking a question for an interface they WANT turned into yet another circlejerk for the people who don't want it.
