Kodi & CCGTV

by elister

I have Kodi installed on my Chromecast with Google TV and it seems every 1-2 months Kodi stops working and wont load up. Click on it, nothing happens. Un-install/Re-Install Kodi and it works...for about 1-2 months then it stops. I have re-installed and configured Kodi 4 times now and I think im ready to toss this. All other apps work fine.

Anyone else have an issue where Kodi just stops working on the CCGTV device?

The problems I've experienced with Kodi are caused when the CCGTV device storage is full and Kodi is unable to update itself properly. Keep the CCGTV storage under the limit. You are able to transfer your data for many apps to an external storage SD card if you use a hub.

The same happens on my Chromecast built-in Android TV. That out of a sudden Kodi will stop running. My fix is to go in apps and clear cache (just cache, not Data) of the Kodi app. Usually afterwards Kodi starts and take a really long time to start for the first time, however afterwards it starts working fine for few months. I think the bug lie somewhere where Kodi cache gets corrupted.

Nope, runs fine on the CGTV IME, for nearly a year now without issue.

I ran Kodi for a while on my new Sony X80J which had CCGTV baked in. I could see the storage filing up quickly so I opted for a dedicated Kodi solution. I picked up a Khadas VIM3L (Single board computer) this thing is tiny and powerful. Runs CoreElec and handles everything I throw at it. Couldn’t be happier

Are you using Kodi from the Play Store? I've used Kodi on six different Android TV devices and have never had this issue. Are you using any extensions/add-ons or anything?

Instead of using Kodi, I strongly recommend you to start using the MX Player, available in Google store. Why lose time with Kodi player, when there is far better MX player in the market?
