Going crazy, unable to write to external drive via Android tv box

by unaphotographer

So my internet provider shipped out a nice android tv set up box.its a TelekomTV android box. The past 5 days I've been going crazy because I can't for the life of me get my Android tv to write to the damn thing. I'm using x-plore and thought it would be great that I can write to the external drive via FTP or Wireless sharing or whatever. But no matter what drive I use, no matter how I format the drive. I can't write to it. I tried ntsf and exfat. Formatted the drives from a laptop or directly on Android tv. I made sure that the apps I use in the Android TV have permission to write and do stuff.

I'm at my end, I can't figure it out! Anyone can help me?

My Android box is using Android 11 I have one WD passport drive 2TB and one rugged Lacie drive 2TB.

It's driving me insane! Need help!

Yeah, i had the same problem with an old android tv box, where it could only write to external drives to fat32 (which of course limits file size problem). So instead i select the drive as internal media i.e. ext4 and then i could write into it. Of Course android copied some additional folders into it as well, but at least it was usable. So may be just to check, try fat32 and see if you can write. If so, then you have the same problem as me, if not, then it's probably some permission issue.
