So i downloaded the app. Am i going to be able to use this without DirecTV?
Not by any conventional means. It took me two truck rolls for DTV to deem my house "not serviceable" due to trees/line of sight. Only then would they let me get the Sunday Ticket Online.
If you have a way to sign up as a student or you meet the other qualification that you can't use DirecTV. All that has to be done on the web site.
