Nexus Player Controllers and Google Tv

I have an old nexus player with 4 controllers for it. Would these controllers work with "Chromecast with Google tv"? These are the original controllers for Nexus Player.

Also if I factory data reset the Nexus Player, will it get downgraded or reset to its most recent update, given that support ended in 2018?

I don't want the controllers to go to waste.

Update: After receiving multiple positive comments, I went with the CCwGTV and I can confirm that the black Asus controllers do work with it.

Do they work with other blue tooth devices? On the second point, pretty sure every Android device I've ever factory reset had stayed on whatever firmware was installed at the time

If they are the original black Asus controllers, they are Bluetooth, and do indeed work on CCwGTV.

Regarding your second question about factory reset, I'm not sure. I put Lineage on mine.

You should be able to hold back and home on the controller to pair via Bluetooth with the CCwGTV
