Onn tv streaming stick. Where’s Restricted profile? Where’s Screen mirroring?

by Chris_Hot

Where’s Android TV’s Restricted profile on this Onn FHD streaming stick?! I need to be able to lock down this streaming stick so people, who I don’t trust not to mess up my google account, can still use it to stream YouTube or Pluto or other apps, maybe with each google account protected by a long PIN number. After X minutes of idle time it should Lock Screen and only let you in to whichever account you enter the PIN for. Any apps for this?!

Also, where’s the screen mirroring feature? I want to play a game on my phone while it mirrors to the big tv screen…?!

I always create a "house" or "family" Google account that is then linked to my normal Google account as a "family member", so that the actual TV account doesn't have direct access to important things, but it can use app purchases and subscriptions, etc.

Google TV (CC4GTV) is getting multi user switching (article from June 2021). What about Android TV (Walmart Onn streaming stick and many others)? Isn’t there an app for this?!

I don't know any way for anybody to mees up your Google account on a TV device. You cas set the Play Store to request the password before any purchases can be made. Otherwise it's really hard to get into anything on your Google account. If that person is that diabolical maybe you should go with Roku.

I've never seen a restricted profile on Android TV.

My Shield TVs and Chromecast don't have anything like that.

Screen mirroring is just built into google cast. Use the cast button on your phone and select the streaming stick.

You won't see an app on the device for it.
