Help: Sleep Timer in Chromecast

Don't know if this has been answered here yet or not, but I sure need help. Everytime I ask it to turn off in whatever minutes, I always get the message of "sleep timer can only be set if there's media playing" even when I have YouTube or Spotify playing. Very frustrating. Not even the "help" links Google sends you to help so I'm hoping actual people can. Thanks.

I use a 3rd party sleep timer app. Works well.

Sleep tv timer, by neon group.

I use the pro version because I automate the selection of the timer interval and open up google music all with one click automation/macro using tasker.. The automation part being a reasonable learning curve if you're not familiar with tasker.. And likely not worth the effort.
