I have all4 working on my shield pro (2019) , i use https://apkplz.net/app/com.channel4.ondemand it works with the remote as well , you also need https://m.apkpure.com/nl/set-orientation/com.googlecode.eyesfree.setorientation to make it full screen (landscape setting) .it's all sideloading .I use the webrowser EDGE for direct download , so i don't need a usb stick anymore . also aptoide tv is very helpfull .
I tried sideloading the app but it kept showing up as a tiny portrait phone app and eventually stopped working.
In the end I got a FireTV stick in the sale as it has its own 4od app. I'm sure a clever person could figure out how to sideload the FireTV version.
By 4od do you mean All4? Try the Send Files to TV app.
I've been looking for a modded app that works properly on the shield for about a year with absolutely no luck whatsoever. I did like another guy says in here and got a Fire Stick and used that for All 4 instead
How is this still not sorted, has put me off an android TV device for years.
Thanks very much for Shieldusers comment above .both apps work well.i downloaded to phone and transferred to Shield with Send Files to TV and installed them with X-plore File Manager.
I found i needed a mouse for scrolling and used Mouse Toggel for Android TV - refer to TechDoctorUK tutorial-for scrolling press play/pause button for a second when in mouse mode. Thanks again Shielduser-ive been looking for a solution to this problem for a long time!!!
All4 and NowTV are the only 2 apps I need and can't get on my shield. Drives me cracked how they can't just release them on these platforms
