Hey guys, so i think the title is pretty much self explanatory, since i'm coming from Mi BoX S, i'm looking for a streaming device which has slightly better hardware, latest OS & security patches, and those extra features such as Dolby Vision, Atmos, HDR10+. I only use streaming services, no games.
So what do you think ? any other recommendations ? Thanks
The Mecool KM2 only supports HDR10 among Dolby Atmos (lossy) and legacy DTS but it has two USB ports (one 3.0 and one 2.0) one microsd card slot, an ethernet port and an optical audio port, software updates to fix bugs or issues are still unknown since it's a new device BUT Videostrong hasn't proven to be good at it although they have proven to be diligent when releasing major Android versions.
Besides HDR10 and Dolby Atmos (lossy), the Chromecast with Google TV also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, but you'll need an USB hub with ethernet in case you want to expand storage and get connected through cable. Google has been diligent when releasing bug fixes unlike Videostrong.

I'd trust Google over Videostrong/Skyworth wrt to keeping the device up to date and secure, so - Chromecast.
I would stay away from junk Chinese boxes. I had a MeCool three or four years ago. I trashed it when the "update" feature was flagged as malware sending back my information to Chinese servers.
I just got the km6 and disappointed to now find out it doesn't passthrough HD audio. The couple of reviews I read on it don't even mention this issue so they obviously aren't testing it very well for the review.
Google whether this affects all mecool boxes or just the km6
I vote for the MeCool. Has the working usb and ethernet ports without daisy chain off a single port like Google device. Buy from Amazon and easy return if you don't like it. Test drive on your own system. Ethernet is the best feature in my book. Wi-fi streaming videos just lags on my set up. Ethernet connection solved all my issues.
