Samsung TVs don't support Dolby Vision. I tried a file encoded in DV HDR on my Q95T connected to a Shield 2017 and the picture was all messed up colours were all mixed up. Not sure if the 2019 Shield which can do Dolby vision will convert picture to HDR10 for Samsung TV's?

Samsungs only do HDR 10+ and HLG. No Dolby vision

Your TV needs to support it. Shield won’t be able to transcode it for you. You need a file using another kind of HDR

Is this luca? Kodi barfed when I tried to play my copy of it and acted like it was just an album, but I could hear proper audio. Plex plays it but I'm not sure if it is supposed to be that green. In any case I backed out and will wait for the UHD disc to be released before I watch it.

See if these steps help:

  1. Play the file and open settings on the shield while it is playing.

  2. Go to device preferences > display and sound> display

  3. Turn off Dolby Vision .

If Dolby vision is already off in this menu, then don't download any Dolby vision stuff as your TV does not support it.

I've had similar issues as others mentioned with colors a janky or signal fritz, that all were frustratingly solved by getting better HDMI cables. I went 8k, even though most of my content is 1k and going through a soundbar first. The cable made a major improvement to everything home theater related for me. I now have a habit of buying >= 2x the cable I think I need. Like "if I need 1Gbps, I buy the next level up of 10Gbps".

I'm guessing you done touched something you shouldn't. Might be easiest just to reset the whole thing.
